Firstly, let’s get it clear that you can use Britain Direct for free. There is no catch.

1. Promoting Local, British Businesses: Create a robust platform that provides a searchable directory and marketplace for local British businesses, encouraging consumers to support their local economies.
2. Give Genuine Website Links That Improve SEO: Unlike Yell, Yelp etc, we have zero upsell packages. We do not charge extra (or anything) for full website links, images, video, social links, contact details and full business descriptions. 
3. Remove Financial Division: Ensuring there is no pay wall, means that a 15 year old kid starting a lawnmowing business has the same opportunities through Britain Direct that a multi-million pound company has. An equal playing field for all. 
4. Provide Professional Help – For Free: We intend on bringing on specialists to share valuable tips and help in all areas we require to improve business in Britain (or the United Kingdom). 

This is how we are looking to monetise this website, not from you. Let’s take a Business Insurance Broker as an example, when we create a “Business Insurance” page, we will invite and vet a specialist or specialist company (British, of course) that will help you for free with advice, up to date information and what you MUST have and what you SHOULD have. 

If you choose to then use their paid services because they are helpful and know what they are talking about, everybody wins.

You still get free, professional advice from a company or broker that is willing to spend their time to give Britain Direct users free, impartial advice. 

5. Bring Back Growth: This is such a simple process, if you make more money, you will spend more money. If 10% of Brits visited a local cafe (not Starbucks etc) just once a week, they’d need more staff and you’d probably see a new cafe or two open due to demand. 

So let’s carry on with that line of thinking, now there is three independent cafes open, with 2 to 4 staff and probably a delivery driver each. That’s more people being employed and spending more money in your area. These people will eat out, visit pubs and have a cheeky weekend away, again, benefiting your community. 

All for the price of a cuppa and a cob (no, we will never call them rolls or baps lol!). 

A town of 50,000 people, with just 10% of the people spending £5 a week on a coffee and a cob, would generate more than £108,000 per month, over £1.2million a year. 

That’s the size of Keighley, Paignton, Tipton, small towns.

So without asking the councils or government to step in, your area is very easy to boost. Together. 

6. Give Don’t Take: The Brits have always been a proud, stoic people. We don’t need help, we have each other. That’s what we want to see. We want to be able to say Great Britain, not Britain.

So instead of using Tesco for your keycutting or flowers, find a local independent business, don’t complain that it costs £1 more, they might only be making £1 profit, but you can bet Tesco, Asda etc are making a lot more money out of you and they dont give you anything back, they dont say hello and wave at you on the street, their kids don’t play with your kids. 

Don’t just be a Brit, be a Great Brit. 

7. Create A Route To Export: Sending things you make and grow here to other countries is a HUGE boost for you (they pay more) and we will find a way to help all of you struggling with exporting to the EU etc.

I had a chat with my Nephew last night who lives in Spain and runs a wee shop with his Girlfriend. If they can become agents, we will find a way for you to export.

We will find a solution, because there is always a solution. 

8. More Things For Free: Once we are running at full steam, we will give you a full classifieds section, like gumtree etc but 100% Free. And jobboards for free to post for staff and to look for jobs, and we will not be allowing Recruitment Agencies on it, there is no reason on this pretty little green earth you should have to apply, to apply for a job!
   
   Anyone remember a time before recruitment agencies? So much better, we just got lazy along the way and gave up finding solutions.

We need to change that, because nothing tastes sweeter than becoming a little bit better everyday.
